Overall Guide to Xperia Contacts

To Add Contacts

1. Find and tap Contacts.
2. Tap  button on the right bottom corner.
3. Input Contact information.
4. Tap Save.

To import contacts from a SIM card

1. Insert the SIM card containing the contacts you want to import, then start the phone.
2. Find and tap Contacts.
3. Tap Fix & Manage at the bottom right.
4. Select Import from SIM.
5. Select contacts to import, then tap Import.

To import contacts from a SIM card

1. Insert the SIM card containing the contacts you want to import, then start the phone.
2. Find and tap Contacts.
3. Tap the profile icon, then tap Contact App Settings → Import.
4. Find and Tap Import under Manage Contacts
5. Select Import from SIM card.
6. Select contacts to import, then tap Import.

To import contacts from a SIM card

1. Insert the SIM card containing the contacts you want to import, then start the phone.
2. Find and tap Contacts.
3. Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines), then tap Settings → Import.
4. Select Import from SIM card.
5. Select contacts to import, then tap Import.

To Delete Contacts 

1. Find and tap Contacts.
2. Touch and hold the contact that you want to delete.
3. Check the checkboxes next to any other contacts that you want to delete.
4. Tap the wastebasket icon, then tap Move To Trash.

To Delete Contacts 

1. Find and tap Contacts.
2. Touch and hold the contact that you want to delete.
3. Check the check boxes next to any other contacts that you want to delete.
4. Tap the wastebasket icon, then tap DELETE.

To send a Contact

1. Find and tap Contacts.
2. Tap the contact whose details you want to send.
3. Tap the menu button (three vertical dots), then select Share.
4. Select an available transfer method and follow the on-screen instructions.

Alternate methods

1. Long press on the contact which you want to share.
2. Tap the Share icon.
3. Select an available transfer method and follow the on-screen instructions

To send a Contact

1. Find and tap Contacts.
2. Tap the contact whose details you want to send.
3. Tap the menu button (three vertical dots), then select Share.
4. Select an available transfer method and follow the on-screen instructions.

To send your Business Card

1. Find and tap Contacts.
2. Swipe from the left edge of the screen to the right and select My Info.
3. Tap the menu button (three vertical dots), then Share.
4. Select an available transfer method and follow the on-screen instructions.

To add a contact to your favourites

1. Find and tap Contacts.
2. Tap the contact that you want to add to your favorites, and then mark the star icon.

To remove a contact from your favourites

1. Find and tap Contacts.
2. Tap the contact that you want to remove from your favourites, and then unmark the star icon.

To use a favourite/speed dial contact

1. In Contacts, favourite contacts will appear on top of the contacts list.
2. Tap a contact, then select an option.

To add a contact to your favourites

1. From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.
2. Find and tap Contacts.
3. Tap the contact that you want to add to your favorites, and then mark the star icon.

To remove a contact from your favourites

1. From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.
2. Find and tap Contacts.
3. Tap the contact that you want to remove from your favourites, and then unmark the star icon.

To use a favourite/speed dial contact

1. In Contacts, favourite contacts will appear on top of the contacts list.
2. Tap a contact, then select an option.

Blocking a certain number

1. Find and tap Phone.
2. Find and tap the menu button (three vertical dots) → Settings → Block numbers → ADD A NUMBER.
3. Enter the phone number you want to block calls and texts from, then tap BLOCK.

To unblock a certain number

1. Find and tap Phone.
2. Find and tap the menu button (three vertical dots) → Settings → Block numbers.
3. Tap  beside the number that you want to unblock, then tap UNBLOCK.

To block incoming or outgoing calls

1. Find and tap Phone  → Settings → Calls → Call Barring.
2. Select an option.
3. Enter the password and tap TURN ON.

Alternate methods

1. Find and tap Phone → Settings → Calling accounts.
2. Tap name of network operators → Call Barring.
3. Select an option.
4. Enter the password and tap TURN ON

Blocking a certain number

1. Find and tap Phone.
2. Find and tap the menu button (three vertical dots) → Settings → Block numbers → ADD A NUMBER.
3. Enter the phone number you want to block calls and texts from, then tap BLOCK.

To unblock a certain number

1. Find and tap Phone.
2. Find and tap the menu button (three vertical dots) → Settings → Block numbers.
3. Tap  beside the number that you want to unblock, then tap UNBLOCK.

To enable or disable fixed dialing

1. Find and tap Phone, then tap Settings → Calls → Fixed Dialling Numbers.

3. Tap Activate fixed dialing or Deactivate fixed dialing.
4. Enter your PIN2 and tap OK.

To send calls to voicemail

1. Find and tap Contacts.
2. Tap the contact that you want to forward to voicemail, then tap the menu icon (three vertical dots).
3. Tap Route to voicemail.

To search for a contact in the phone app

1. From your home screen, tap the Phone app icon
2. Tap the Search contacts field
3. Start typing a name or phone number. Search matches appear in a list.
4. Tap a contact in the list to place a call.

To use a photo as a contact picture

1. When you are viewing a photo, tap the screen to display the toolbars.
2. Tap the menu button (three vertical dots) → Use as → Contact photo.
3. If asked, select Contacts → Just once.
4. Select a contact. If needed, crop the picture, then tap SAVE.

Alternative method 

1. Find and Tap Contacts
2. Select the contact to which you would like to add a picture. 
3. Tap Edit contact at the bottom right corner.
4. Click Add photo icon 
5. Follow the onscreen instructions. 

To use a photo as a contact picture

1. When you are viewing a photo, tap the screen to display the toolbars.
2. Tap the menu button (three vertical dots) → Use as → Contact photo.
3. If asked, select Contacts → Just once.
4. Select a contact. If needed, crop the picture, then tap SAVE.

To create a label

1. In Contacts, tap the menu (three horizontal lines).
2. Tap Create label, then type a name for the label → tap OK.

To add contacts to a label

1. In Contacts, tap the menu (three horizontal lines).
2. Tap the Label that you want to add contacts.
3. If there are no previous contacts in the group, tap ADD CONTACTS, then tap the contact you want to add.
4. If there are already one or more contacts in the group, tap the add contact icon, then tap the contact you want to add.
5. To add several contacts, long press one contact until a check box appears beside every contact. Tap the check box for every contact you want to add, then tap ADD.

To rename a label

1. In Contacts, tap the menu (three horizontal lines).
2. Tap the label that you want to rename.
3. Tap the menu (three vertical dots), then tap Rename label.
4. Type the new name, then tap OK.

To remove contacts from a label

1. In Contacts, tap the menu (three horizontal lines).
2. Tap the Label that you want to remove contacts from.
3. Long-press one contact until a check box appears beside every contact. Tap the check box for every contact you want to remove.
4. Tap the menu (three vertical dots), then tap Remove from label.

To remove multiple contacts from a label

1. In Contacts, tap the menu (three horizontal lines).
2. Tap the label that you want to add remove contacts from.
3. Tap the menu (three vertical dots), then tap Remove contacts
4. Press  on the right of the contact.

To Delete a Label 

1. In Contacts, tap the menu (three horizontal lines).
2. Tap the label that you want to delete.
3. Tap the menu (three vertical dots), then tap Delete label.

To edit personal contact information

1. Find and tap Contacts.
2. Tap menu icon (menu icon) → Settings → Your info.
3. Input or Edit the desired information.
4. When done, tap SAVE.

To edit personal contact information

1. Find and tap Contacts.
2. Tap (menu icon) → My info.
3. Tap the edit icon (pencil) in the upper right corner. 
4. Edit the desired information.
5. When done, tap SAVE.
