This article shows you how to set up a screen saver on your Xperia device using a photo slide show (i.e. Photos mode). Learn how to activate the Screen Saver feature, customize the settings, and preview your photo selections all in six simple steps.
Before you start:
- To set up a screen saver in Photos mode, the Google Photos app must be enabled on your Xperia device.
- Screen saver is activated when your device is charging and the screen is left idle. Pressing the power button while charging will deactivate this feature.
- If your device has multiple users, each user can have individual screen-saver settings.
- Photos can be displayed both from albums and the Google Photos app, depending on the device settings.
- Enabling Only use Wi-Fi for data ensures that no mobile data is used while the screen saver is active.
To activate the Screen saver feature in Photos mode:
- Find and tap Settings → Display.

- Tap Screen saver → On or Use screen saver.
Or - Tap Advanced → Screen saver.
- Tap Screen saver → On or Use screen saver.
- Tap When to start → While charging, While docked and charging, or While charging or docked.
