Dear Valued Sony Customer,
Skype has announced that “Skype for TV” will no longer receive software updates and therefore Sony will no longer support the Skype app on our BRAVIA televisions and Blu-ray Disc players after June 2016. For the list of affected models, please refer to the list below.

As of June 2016, the Skype app on BRAVIA TVs and Blu-ray Disc players may continue to function with some limitations for a period of time. However based on Skype’s plan to no longer support the app, we anticipate that this will not be the case in future.
Below are the limitations regarding how Skype for TV will work on BRAVIA TVs and Blu-ray Disc players:
2011/2012 models:
- You will not be able to create a Skype account and cannot change your Skype Password from the BRAVIA TV or Blu-ray Disc players.
- You will not be able to create a new Skype account from another device and sign in to Skype on the BRAVIA TV or Blu-ray Disc players.
