This video clip demonstrates the balanced stereo sound available, thanks to Full-stage Stereo Speakers on the Xperia 1 VI.
The video uses a graphical representation of soundwave measurements from the Xperia 1 VI, compared to a conventional smartphone. The sound is measured for both devices while in landscape orientation. The video opens with a caption reading “This is the measurement result by the system that can visualise the stereo balance – This visual shows the distribution of around 5,000 Hz Sound pressure level”.
A split screen then shows the measured results of a 5,000 Hz soundwave being reproduced on both an Xperia smartphone, on the left half of the screen, with the caption “Sound wave flow equally balanced from right and left”; and on the right side, a typical smartphone with the caption “Sound waves flow in an unbalanced manner from right and left”.
Soundwave measurements are superimposed onto a graphic of a person watching the screen. Shifting green and blue colours indicate the sound output, and are balanced across the width of the frame on the Xperia side but concentrated to the left side on the non-Xperia side. The camera then pans around to face the screen, as though from the viewer’s own perspective and, again, it is clear the soundwaves are equally balanced across and expanding outwards equally from either side of the Xperia screen, but concentrated on just one side with the non-Xperia.
