A new and smarter display

The brighter and more beautiful OLED display provides excellent visibility in any viewing environment. It also features a variable refresh rate from 1 Hz to 120 Hz, adjusting it automatically according to the usage and optimising battery consumption without compromising the viewing experience. A new 19.5:9 aspect ratio offers a better content creation and viewing experience on social networks, YouTube™, gaming and other activities.

The brightest Xperia display ever

The new display's brightness is now 1.5 times brighter than the previous model. The new Sunlight Vision feature handles screen visibility even in glaring environments, not only brightening the image but also performing AI image processing to prevent overexposed highlights by analysing the frames and the environmental brightness in real-time.

High quality sound and stable wireless connections

Thanks to LDAC™, you can hear High Resolution Audio Wireless when you pair the Xperia 1 VI to a supported LDAC audio device. And thanks to AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) with the newly improved Adaptive Bitrate, by combining Sony‘s wireless headphones0, you can enjoy higher-quality sound with the bitrate increasing up to 320kbps. In situations where connectivity is likely to become unstable, such as crowds, it temporarily lowers the bitrate and prioritises the connectivity for smooth audio without interruptions, then automatically is back to Prioritize Sound Quality.

Enjoy high-resolution audio quality with AI

DSEE Ultimate enhances the quality of all your digital music by using AI to automatically expand audio frequencies and dynamic range. In particular high frequency ranges and the realism of sound details are improved, taking each track close to High-Resolution Audio quality. Plus it works with wired or wireless headphones01 , on local files and streaming services.

This video uses a chart to demonstrate the sound quality enhancement benefit of DSEE Ultimate. The chart features bits (dynamic range) on the vertical axis, and kHz (frequency response) on the horizontal axis.

A grey area of the chart demonstrates the 16bit / 44kHz range available to conventional MP3 files and CD.

An extended blue area demonstrates the expansion of audio quality to 24bit / 192KHz when using DSEE Ultimate, and the way this technology can upscale sound quality to be closer to High-Resolution Audio.
