Nice phone after 3 years of use. Good back camera, great screen, fast response but front camera is bad. Sound is good bot with speaker's or Sony WH-1000-4 or Sony in ear Wf-c700n Will definitely buy Xperia 1vii when it will be released.

Looking at other reviews it seems I am not alone the fingerprint Biometrics keeps disappearing. I can be sat next to my wife on her old Samsung and she has service and I don't have any on the same network, I have contacted Sony a number of times and they don't reply and this is my 7th and last Sony

When I first bought this phone, I loved it. It was great. I purchased this phone in October of 2021. Unfortunately, there were problems from the beginning, I just didn't recognize them. I purchased a new car, and I didn't even realize my car had Android Auto, because whenever I plugged my phone in, it never showed up. About a year and a half ago, I finally figured out if I jiggled my phone cord into the car USB, it would eventually connect to Android Auto. I thought this was due to my new car and maybe the USB port was loose. But I had the jiggle workaround, so I put off going to the dealership. About a year ago, the biometrics stopped working on this phone. I would have to completely delete my fingerprint and re-register a new one, but that would only work for a few days, before it stopped working again. I gave up on it. I did recently contact Sony support, they had me do the same thing, it worked, and then a few days later, it stopped. Like always. Support also had me try to connect my phone to my laptop for diagnosis. It would never connect. I recently took my car into the dealership. Everyone there was able to connect their phones to my car, and Android Auto would startup right away. The phone was the problem. It was always the problem. Things have very quickly gotten worse. And I didn’t realize it was the phone. I have a couch with USB port on the side. I would connect my phone to charge through it. One time, I smelled burning, the charging cable (that was only connected to my couch at the time, and not currently charging anything) was burning a hole into my couch. So upset. I wasn’t sure if it was the couch or the cord, but I threw the cord away and stopped using the ports entirely. I now believe it was the phone that damaged the cord and caused this. Over the past 2 weeks, I’ve made more excuses for this phone. It stopped charging through some of my regular (and relatively new) chargers. It completely stopped connecting to my car. This morning was my last straw. The last charger it was ok with, I plugged it into this morning. Over the past few days, it has taken me plugging it in several times to get it to charge. This morning, I plugged it in, at about 50% charge, hopped in the shower, got out, and when I checked my phone, it was at 25%, and was extremely hot to the touch. I immediately unplugged it and turned it off. It had a very strong electrical burning smell. I’m over this phone and will never purchase another Sony phone. It’s a shame, because I do have brand loyalty, which means I’ll being staying away from any other Sony products in the future.

Sent back under warranty because finger print biometrics disappeared, now happened twice more.

Poor quality. Only a little past the warranty and sim tray has faulted. Sony won't do anything about it unless I pay but won't give me a price until they have seen the phone. Paid over £1100 for a phone that only lasts little past the warranty. Never had a sim tray fail. Obviously cheap parts. Will never buy Sony again.

Oddly enough after 2 years of solid use nad 2 weeks after it died this review equest came along. The phone is now trapped in a random reboot cycle and nothing I have done will fix it.. so s24 ultra is the new phone. However, while it latest this was a solid work horse. The camera was not as good as I hope and the night shots are a joke.

Battery is great, screen is amazing, photo capabilities are great, and above all, color reproduction is amazing!

Phone is let down by it's 21:9 aspect ratio, which can't be changed very easily with the customisations Sony added to android (no resolution options for the display) English weather is more reliable than the fingerprint reader which broke within the first week of ownership. Other than these two issues the phone is fantastic and holds up even today

After update the fingerprint sensor doesn't work apparently this is common thing with Sony phones I can say I've had Sony 1 2 it happened with this phone and I've had Sony 1 3 also the same thing happened I had to sell it .

Having owned a Sony Xperia 10 iii before and wanting a bigger screen at not much more cost. This fitted the bill and Sony's outstanding tech is even better, if there was a criticism it would be that the Sony Xperia Companion computer app is no longer used to transfer your files over and it is all done via the cloud, this did take a couple of days to catch up, but when it did all of my apps came over.

Was a Sony Xperia user up to xz3 then switched to Samsung as the Xperia 1,I found not a patch on xz3 still use my old xz3 as still mint condition decided to give 1iii a go as headphone jack return and pleasantly surprised great phone fast and good battery life only gripe Sony should make a camera phone just to point and shoot as not all users are professional users which this device is designed for which is a shame sometimes you just want to pick up quickly and catch a shot which say pixel phone is good at

I've had this phone now a few years...I've always had Sony mobile phones...But this Sony Xperia 1 iii, is the worst one I've had, Sorry to say...And probably be my last Sony phone..

Have had Experia phones before, always happy with them, not this time. It overheats constantly and wants software updates daily.

I bought this as I've owned multiple Xperia models previously, yet this one claims to work with T-Mobile and was a waste of money for a device intended to primarily be a phone. Yes, it is amazing aside from its extremely poor connectivity to T-Mobile, and I'll likely sell this online to try and recoup some of my hard earned (and hard-to-come-by) money. I can't believe the price of these things even on the secondary market, as they are nothing more than an Internet device and good camera. I'm so disheartened and upset that I sat in the phone with T-Mobiles top tier tech support for over 3 hours, and they couldn't do anything to make it connect properly to their network. I can't speak to other countries or service providers - but this purchase was a complete waste of my time and money. T-Mobile buyers in the USA beware and AVOID!!!!

This phone stands out from all the others, for its rich features. Headphone Jack, microSD expandable storage, fantastic cameras, great Music player and Epic battery life.

First, the "5G" is not true 5G. This device only supports nationwide 5G and not the super fast mmwave technology. So I really don't see much of a difference in speed when i find a 5G network. Also, as Sony has advertised their audio capabilities of this device, I was left underwhelmed. I was using my Asus ROG phone 2 before this device, and my ROG phone continued to be my go-to for my audio listening needs. Don't get me wrong, the audio does sound good, but there are other devices that sound much better (in my opinion). Battery life is nothing great either, it's not bad, but average (unless you use the full resolution of the display, then battery drains considerably faster, which is one reason I bought this device). To the pluses. Again, battery life not bad, just not great either. Though my ROG phone 2 did have me spoiled with its massive battery. The display, is another story. The "4k" 120Hz display is simply gorgeous. And no other company renders motion on their displays better than Sony. This display simply is the highlight. It also has the top-tier SoC for this year which makes the device very fast and snappy. I am happy that Sony still supports the 3.5mm headphone jack, though I wish they would follow Asus' footsteps and include a quad DAC. The Xperia 1 iii also captures good images and video. I do feel the competition, like Samsung does capture better details, however I imagine if I were more into taking pictures I would get better with the software included. I do like, however, the more natural colors that the Xperia 1 captures. Overall, this is a great device that does a lot right. However, it is not without its shortcomings. For watching videos, movies, and such this is definitely the device to get. However, I just don't think Sony has done enough to really push themselves ahead of the competition, especially for the more premium MSRP that they set for their devices. I have had mine for just short of 2 years now, and it is still working minus the fingerprint scanner.

The phone has flaws , mainly with the torch not being very bright unless you take a photo and I've found that when I'm on speaker phone the microphone doesn't seem to pick up my voice very well. But overall the phone is brilliant it's quick I have more than enough storage and the compatibility wether that is from the headphone jack to an SD card slot is absolutely brilliant to have! I genuinely love this phone.

This is my 3rd Sony phone coming from an XA2 and then an Xperia 5 MK1, the XA2 is what got me hooked really just because of the stock android UI and the design and build quality. Obvs as I went up the range all of those things have got better and I'm not sure if I'll change from Sony now. I have an iPhone 14 for work and it feels clunky and just run of the mill. I highly recommend any Sony phone but the Xperia 1 is brilliant!

Ive had this phone nearly 2yrs And Not been impressed with it too be honest,camara And videos are great but the music app doesn't work properly now since the last update,the battery Life is now poor yet always charged it according the the way Sony advised, And in 17 month had to return to factory reset 4 times the new Xperia 1s since the first one are no where near as good

First time I'm not planning to upgrade my phone after 2 years. Only complaint I have is it takes a second or two to wake up some time from blocked state

This phone is the best I've ever owned it's camera is top notch and playing games on it is like having a PlayStation in your hands yeah for me this is a ***** five star product ✌️💜💡🥰🙏🕉️

I have upgraded from an Xperia 5 ii to the 1 iii because I wanted a larger screen. Sony phones are so well built, reliable and extremely functional. I like the frosted back to the 1 series compared to the slippery gloss of the 5. I would never have an Apple device and Samsung has lost the plot as far as I am concerned. Sony still allows you to connect jack accessories and you can expand the memory with micro SD cards. Why would a manufacturer stop you doing this? Oh, yes, to sell you cloud storage, if course! There are a couple of negative points that I'd mention. Firstly, Sony has done a real dirty on people by not including Sony Gallery on new devices. I don't want to use another Google app, so I've got to search for something else. Also, the vibrate alert function on the phone is useless. You cannot increase the intensity, nor change the pattern. May as well not have it, it is so weak.

I purchased this phone in december 2022 and i have not had one issue at all. its running the latest android 13 and the software is silky smooth. this is an excellent all round phone, brilliant crystal clear 4K screen with a super smooth 120hz refresh rate. brilliant cameras, great size - slim and not too tall.., fantastic build quality, micro sd card slot, led notification indicator, 12gb of ram to keep things going nicely, headphone jack, great sound quality with nice bass and depth...easy all day battery life, everything just loads instantly, it really is a great mobile phone. i really hope sony continue to make mobile phones of this quality. I genuinly have had all types of flagship mobiles, Samsung Galaxy Ultras, Huawei P Series and Apple mobiles, and i can honestly say i prefer Sony for my daily driver mobile all day long. well done and thank you Sony.

Could be happier with my purchase Expandable Memory 3.5m headphones jack And the camera system a joy to use Duel Sim not carrying around 2 phones

I bought it in late April 2022, impressed with its performance and features. The phone has stunning image quality without punched holes in the middle and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also has a memory card expansion slot. Sony still needs to improve battery duration or battery capacity. Transferring SD card-encrypted content from the previous Xperia 1 II to the new one was a headache. After eight months of use, the fingerprint scanner started to fail (a couple of weeks after the Android 13 update). Sometimes it is undetected by the system, and other times, it worked fine for almost the whole day.

Really great phone and very fast, but battery life is very bad, even after android 13 update The battery life is just bad on this phone, there are numerous reviews on the net and they all say the battery life is very bad on this phone. Yes it is 120hz 4k screen but that is why I bought the phone and why would I switch to 60hz just to save battery life? My Sony Xperia 1 ii has better battery life. Great phone otherwise.

I bought this a year ago and thought there was a system familiarity lag, deficit or shortfall due to my long history with galaxy smart devices, but it's not me, this phone was oversold, underdeveloped, poorly supported, and not even playing the same sport as Galaxy SMART DEVICES, I WISH I COULD STILL GET SOME OF MY INVESTMENT BACK, PLEASE HELP SONY,..... OR, better yet, price me wrong please! I love Sony products, I'm an audiophile startup, and have always cited their products as marquis, top of the line for the money, which is not cheap, and unbeatable in performance if not over the top, but I believe your product development team, missed the entire board on this attempt, sorry

Happy comeback to Sony after few years using Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro (mostly liked it for glacier blue texture) :D before did have 3 Xperia smartphones in a row (latest Xperia Z5 Compact) :) And Now Happy with my New Xperia 1 iii :) Ofcourse it heating mostly only when charging using wireless charger. But for wintsr time is nice, warming hand when hold heated phone xD. Ut that not happens often so it's good. Not using photocamera often.

Looks great, handles great, find the screen capture double button and right timing task a bit tricky and if you get stuck in the voice 'help' gimmick reading out every line on the page and preventing normal usage it can be annoying, or awkward and embarrassing if in public... First time I had it I struggle for three hours and numerous Google videos to find the solution. Photos (quality being my primary reason for choosing, I've had xperia's for some years now) look great, so far. All the other phone stuff, well, it's that phone stuff that phones now do.

Great device, had it a year and a half almost. good cameras and awesome physical zoom, great stereo speakers, love the 4k and 120hz, smooth as butter and looks good, headphone jack is a plus, microSD is a plus, SD888 overheated when i first got the device, but firmware updates fixed that, battery life could be better, screen brightness could be better in the sun. other than that, i want Sony to keep doing 4k 120, keep doing stereo speakers, keep the microSD, and SD 8 series, keep the shutter button. I would like the Xperia 1 mk5 to have even better cameras, keep 4K 120hz, better battery life and keep the stereo Dolby Speakers, would probably upgrade to that next year.

Good quality build, lomg battery life under standard usage conditions, good Wi Fi and 5G speeds, great display quality and brightness, and excellent camera. Video and camera usage does cuase the device to run hot, with the software giving you a clear warning that this might happen

I WAS loyal CUSTOMER for more than 10 years. HOWEVER, my XPERIA 1 iii is broken for 3 months, screen for some reasons, 10 time per day stopping to react to touch, the only way to resolve the issue is "forced restart". Furthermore, I am speaking with the customer service starting from JULY, they are failing to send PAID LABEL for more than 20 days (for unknown reasons even to customer service).

This soundbar sounds amazing and has lots of options for connectivity. Setting up the soundbar was very easy with the on screen guide which took you through the setup process. The Dolby Atmos sound is very impressive for a soundbar and the demo mode is very helpful. The bass from this soundbar is very impressive considering I was not using a subwoofer at the time. This soundbar is also very compact considering it has two subwoofers and two separate tweeters. I am replacing my current soundbar and subwoofer with this one as the sound is much better, and I can save space as I will not be using a subwoofer. I may purchase a subwoofer in the future and I am very tempted for the rear wireless speakers which come in two flavours. I can highly recommend this soundbar and would not hesitate recommending anyone to part with their cash for this soundbar. Another great product, well done Sony!

I bought this 3 weeks ago as a replacement of the previous Sony Experia. I have good experience with Sony quality such as images and sound.

Maybe a year old now but still an excellent product from Sony works like a dream fast efficient and now updated to android 12 always recommend Sony phones as they keep their promises

The cameras on this phone are amazing and it's also got superb picture quality when viewing a movie or show. Ultra wide screen.

I recently upgraded to thos phone and i'm really happy. Great camera with perfect phone. In constant use since month and no issues with it.

I have read so many reviews about this phone, the good and the bad, so lets go with the good first, Design is Cyberpunk! with a art deco, I just watch A Nightmare on Elm Street and the screen looks like you are watching a little pocket size movie theater, 4k at it's best! Speakers sounds great, but really what can you complain about it's a cell phone. Battery life is good, it last me a day it just depends on what you are doing on a daily.I think for a novice this is a great way into learning photography, And really what phone these days have a headphone jack and a SD card slot. Now the only Bad to me is the front cam it's bad! But in a sunlit environment you can get a pretty ok shot. Even so this is last year model I would still recommend this phone if the price is right.

Must admit..been a Sony fan for a long time. So bound to be a little biased. Overall happy with my purchase..no issues this far..phone nimble,battery life perfect..5*.. Happy to be part of that small niche Sony group that chooses to be different.

Not happy with this fone connection rubbish worst fone ever

I have been an Sony Xperia user for year's now, the Xperia 1iii is in a class of it's own. Premium sound when paired with 360 surround sound it's a delight to listen to your music. The photos are amazing the depth, colours and sharpness. Have the shake's is not a problem that crisp sharpness is still there. It has some great features especially the split screen.

I am very disappointed in the Sony Xperia 1lll , I bought it new and with 4 days already had problems, the store exchanged for a new Sony Xperia 1 lll and again problems,: crashing, taking the application in use of the screen. So I'm very disappointed.

Phone is super fast and responsive and the camera is good too, but battery is poor - can hardly last through the day even with 120hz turned off. Fingerprint sensor is also a hit and miss and there's no facial recognition, which is disappointing at this price point

Absolutely perfect phone. I know the Mark IV is out in 2022 but I opted for the III as it has proven itself to be a magnificent device and the awards it has achieved reflect that. Gorgeous to hold and feel. Perfect for me.

I've barely had my Xperia 1 III two weeks, and really far too soon to give a meaningful review. I like it alot but I'm struggling with the settings, keyboard and font size, after all I had my previous phone eight years! I haven't even taken a photograph or video yet. I haven't looked into changing the keyboard yet but characters appear on different keys which has slowed me down and is frustrating me. The max font size is smaller than I'm used to and have to pinch the screen to enlarge it, maybe I'll find somewhere in settings to alter that too. The settings too are far more numerous, it's going to take a while to find my way around them, Apart from the frustration of being held back by "learning to walk again" I know I will get there. I like it very much despite the only negative so far, the fingerprint sensor being on the on/off key, it's partially hampered when the phone is in a case.

I've had my phone now for over two weeks as an upgrade for my older Sony xperia10 II. Love the manual options on the camera so much so I didn't take a camera with me on a holiday to Rhodes last week.. Very quick response time on apps as well. The fingerprint I'd is something that I loved on my last phone and still love on my new phone. The only thing I don't like is having to press two buttons at once to take a screenshot but I believe it's an Android. Overall very happy with my purchase thing not Sony's fault

I bought the phone about a week ago. Today without any reason got froze. The screen wasn't working, I couldn't even restart the phone. Came back to normal after a while.
