I am so happy that I did purchase this lens as my first purchase from the Sony camera section.

This is a good value lens from Sony. It competes well with the competition on features, image quality and even on price - yes a Sony lens at a good price and it is a G lens. The zoom and focus rings are a little light on turning - a bit more resistance would be nice but that is the only down side.

I bought this product about 4 weeks ago, the product build is very good. I am disappointed with the picture quality the results are slightly blurred. Assistance with AI gets the desired results. I shoot in the RAW format and after using AI it saves as a JPEG, which defeats the object of using the RAW format in the first place. I acknowledge the Lens is not expensive but at this price I would expect reasonable picture quality.

The image quality produced by the Sony 18-105mm is impressive. It delivers sharp, detailed images with vibrant colors and good contrast. Whether you are photographing a science experiment, a sports event, or a class trip, the results are consistently high-quality.

I bought this lens a few weeks back now! It has yet to prove me wrong in buying it! Brings amazing quality images and works perfectly for my automotive photography.

I love this lens. It has great specs for most of my daily shooting requirements. Great price, highly recommended for anyone looking for their first lens. All photos from my sample are unedited except some cropping.

I've had this lens about a month ago and found it has many uses,very impressive results.

I bought this a mont ago, but can't get used to the indirect delayed zoom. Also when i have digital zoom active as an quick option, the zoom on this lens just proceeds digital after 105 m. Further more for crispy photo's you always need to stop 1 down, else images are liveless and look unsharp with little contrast. So bought second hand 16-70 f4, and the 28-105 F4 is for sale.

Another addition and happy to have it. I needed this lens.

Theres a lot packed into this lens! First, the zoom range is amazing and covers pretty much everything I would want in one lens for handheld use. The OSS helps keeps things steady and the power zoom is great for video work, especially when paired with a camera with a zoom switch like the FX30. It's small and light for such a varied focal length but the metal build stops it from feeling cheap. The zoom is internal which I definitely prefer over extending barrels with the zoom and focus rings being nicely dampened and smooth to use. Constant F4 aperture is a god send as I don't really like variable aperture zooms, fair enough if it's f2 to 2.8 like the tamron 35mm-150mm but not something naff like F4 to 7.1 (I'm looking at you canon!) Lastly, image quality and I have to say I'm pretty impressed here too! I wasn't expected too much but I'v managed to get some truly beautiful shots with this and the F30, enough to make both clients and myself happy. I use this for video work so keep that in mind if you are planning for photography but at this pice you really cant go wrong if you are looking for a nice 'all in one lens'

Disappointed with the lack of sharpness. All my other Sony lenses are noticeably sharper.

An all around lens that is quite sharp and nice colour reproduction during day time. Overall experience with the lens is good, but the only let down is that it do not have dust moisture resistance.

This lens seems extremely well made but it is too early to give a full review on sharpness etc If given the chance I will review late when I have used more

I bought this a few weeks ago and it becomes my favorite lens. The focal range is just enough for every day shootings. With the same maximum aperture within the whole range, it is easy and fast to capture good photos.

Fabulous images from this very versatile lens. Combined with A6000 camera this makes for amazing quality photos. Very flexible range on zoom, this lens never leaves the camera.

Much better focal length range than standard length and amazed with the apature being constant F4 through out focal length. Picture very clear and sharp. Only small drawback is the shadow of the lens if the in built camera flash is used.

I bought this to replace my old Nikon D70 this does a lot more and is nice and compact.

I use this lens basically for portray, landscape and sport photography.

Just changed from Micro Four Thirds to Sony and bought this lens with the A6000 and the image quality from both is outstanding.

Do everything lens for daily use. Sony E PZ 18-105mm f/4 G OSS with F-4 stop for full zoom range.

我買嚟主要用在zve10 喥拍片。由於係內變焦關係用在gimbo 上一次調平就可以。而且可以用旋鈕zoom in - zoom out 非常方便。唯一個不好處是最近對焦距離不太近!

Pros: - Bright, especially on long end - Premium feel, high quality material - Fast AF (maybe because I got an already updated firmware) Cons: - Manual zoom feels unnatural - A bit large and heavy, but not really an issue (got a full DSLR before, not going to comment about that) Overall, it's a good lens to cover commonly used focal length, great for travel and night photography.

Initial reaction was favourable. Excellent speed and accuracy of focus and crisp image, but, and it's a massive one, there was intermittent issue causing selective vignetting to top left corner of frame only. All apertures, at any short focal length. Like something was sticking. Returned it. Not going to risk another. Disappointing qc. Will probably stick with kit lens on my a6000, and carry on lugging a DSLR for anything beyond that.

Bought it recently have yet to fully use it. Hope to try it soon

I bought this lens three weeks ago for the cruise last week. The lens is light and easy to use. Quite happy with the result. This lens was mounted to my Alpha 6500 camera body. Photos were taken on board the ship, no flash was used. Minor photoshop editing was applied.

After reading and viewing it from the known photography mediums, I decided to get it to replace the kit lens and I am very happy so far with its performance.

We've owned it less than a year, and it is a very nice versatile lens, build quality as with anything could be a little better as ours developed a fault after 8 months of usage - which appears to be a common issue where the lens does not focus when the camera is pointed downwards and then turned on.

If you are a 'run & gun' shooter and you need good wide-angle/zoom lens for video don't think twice. Buy this one. excellent on gimbal.

I bought this lens used from a well-known auction site shortly after purchasing my a6100. It was the first lens I bought (not counting the kit lens) and it has been onoe of my most-used lenses ever since. It is easily sharp enough for the 24Mp sensor in my a6400 (I upgraded) and the zoom range is perfect for casual photography. It focuses nice and close, allowing some lovely shots of flowers and the like, and of course at the wide end it is useful for landscape or street photography. The only downside is the bulk, it is big and heavy for what it does, but not so much as to be uncomfortable to carry.

It is a nice lens all in all, but f4 is a bit too small for indoor, and the moto zoom is not easy to operate - sliding it causes movement. Why not buttons? Or why not use a camera menu to zoom? Also, using a remote control is not that convenient either. Eventually, I sold mine and replaced it with 18-135mm, which I am happy with it. Sony recently added a f2.8 zoom, but the price! Come on.

I needed a lens with a good range from wide angle to portrait, with a decent f-stop - this lens will stay wide open (f4) throughout its zoom range, which is sweet!

I am working on a ski photography project, and this proved the perfect lens for my effort: just the right range with my APS-C camera (a6400), a single package that fits well in my hands and fits with the small camera in a small waist pack. However, after just a few months, my camera will no longer recognize the lens. I sent it to warranty repair with Precision Camera Repair, and after nearly two weeks (twice as long as promised), they have asked for the camera, since they claim they can't replicate the problem. It works fine with other lenses, and I've now had to send the camera and kit lens to them, shutting me down with this system. Fortunately, my Canon cameras still work.

I haven't seen anything like it I have gotten amazing footage and photos with it

Unless if you're a shooting in 4k video mode its ok, FHD have some soft visual on video mode.

Higher digital zoom performs poorly and should be avoided to maintain image quality.

I love this lens. It's a great lens for a beginner who want's to record videos,vlog and take pictures because it has power zoom like a camcorder to go back and forth if you don't like manually zooming the video. l don't want to switch lenses a lot when I'm outside recording to protect from dust and keeping the lease clean. Plus also for convince and comfort it's just easier to stick with one lens like this lens can do. And It has a great focus length from 18mm-105mm and with the sony zoom on the A6400 you can get a clear shot and stretch past the 105mm and go up to 135mm. You can zoom even further with the digital zoom on the a6400 of up to 200mm I think. On the digital zoom it's not as clear once your getting close to the 200mm, but the lens can get some extra push to go farther which I like if you just adjust and pull back a bit on the zoom. I do wish that Sony would consider making a newer power zoom lens that is even more clearer than this for an upgrade and in the same price range with maybe a 16mm wide angle view or an even smaller wide angle view since the competition out there is trying to go smaller for less and that Sony would make a power zoom lens that would go all the way up to 200mm with a clear zoom. The reach you get with this lens at 105mm is still very good and I think most will love this lens just like I do, but now that I have had it for some time I do want more of a reach with a small compact size because I felt like I needed to go further to get a closer affect with animals and landscape and I think a small lense like this with more push would get me there. Sony I love this lens and recommend all beginners to get this lens as it can do most jobs and the quality is very high when using 4k, but I sure hope that Sony thinks about making another G lense like this in this price point or less with a smaller, lighter body and further stretch as I think a 200mm lens is a good enough stretch for a beginner to get those animal or landscape shots a little closer. The build on this is great and all metal but I would love for it to be smaller and lighter but if it can't be done smaller and lighter to get further length I still love this allot that I would use another G lens this size if it got me a further stretch in power zoom. I know they have the 18mm-135mm but I want to go even further as my daughters camera goes up to 200mm zoom and I would like to do the same with a smaller lens like this. I want to see more power zooms that have it all cause I need a wider lens for selfies but still need to zoom in animals and landscapes just a bit closer. But for what you get I love this lens and will continue to use it till they make another power zoom. People want more power zooms for low price points when it comes to making videos and vlogging and I got this one because the price was right. I'm not a consumer than can go higher on lenses so I appreciate when Sony can give us quality like this at a more affordable price point for the average consumer.

It’s a perfect lens for when you aren’t sure on what to shoot!

Good lens, disappointed as I had to send the first one back to the retailer as it has a large dust spec on the inside optic, which was clearly visible on shots. Hence 3/5. Its a good quality lens and performs well, with out the dust issue would have given a 4/5

As a novice videographer, my son really love this lens. A must have lens for starting out.

This lens has helped me get to the next level with my photography, before I only had a standard kit lens which in itself was awesome but the depth of field and zoom is so good with this one.

Great investment as a first lens. New as a hobbyist, I needed a versatile lens but with a higher quality than the kit lens.

This lens Cover the most distance you need, don't be fool by the F-4 Aperture. Use it right still will get the shallow depth of field.

Great lens at a reasonable price. Distortion at both ends of the zoom corrected in camera - if it's a Sony. Auto focus takes about 2-3 seconds to find optimal sharpness - could be improved. If you can live withe the slow autofocus and have a Sony camera then it's a bargain.

Best lens with constant F/4 and cover from wide to mid range zoom. The power zoom functions good for video as it smoothly zoom in and out

Sharp, and light weight, good for travel and vedio.

I read and watch reviews on this lens before buying it and had used it for my recent holiday travel. It captured all my photos very nicely and I didn't have to switch back to the original lens.

The power zoom and constant aperture are the main stand out points for the lens

I bought this lens a month ago and it has been my most favourite lens and i been travelling with this lens everywhere. the photo quality is superb & the video quality is massive at 4k recording.

I love this lens.The build quality is superb and produces lovely sharp images.Maybe not a good low light lens.Good lens for taking only one lens on vacation. Works great for gimbal video by these features (1)size is not change when zooming (2)power zoom (3)constant aperture.

This lens now sits on my A6500 full time. So useful in mammy different situations.

Bought this lens with an a6500 to replace an aging Nikon D7000. Lens build quality and optical quality are good. The electronic zoom is too slow for following moving subjects.

Using it at the moment, the perfect compromise for scenic shots and zooming into wildlife, nicely balanced on my a6300 and bright across the range.

A very good lens with superb quality in a very good price
